What does being Rich mean to you and is it limited to money, possessions, gold, or other tangible items?

Being Rich does not just mean money. Although a little extra money can make one’s life a bit easier. One could feel rich because of their family, an abundance of love could make you feel rich. What about your career. Many value their career over money, which may make them feel rich. Some love reading and learning over accumulating money.

According to this Forbes article, IQ does not mean you are destined to be rich either.

Many say that wealth means having a big house, a boat, and a private jet – or maybe just a comfortable home and good health insurance. But the truth is, we don’t all know what “rich” means, because it means different things to different people.

Is being rich is an arbitrary and discretionary concept? Each person has their own idea of what it means. For many, being rich means having a certain sum of money — like a million dollars, or, perhaps five million dollars. A large amount of money creates financial security with no worries about paying bills or facing an unforeseen crisis, at least to a point.

In the English dictionary, what comes up in my search is “having a great deal of money or assets” with an extreme version of that truth being capture with the word “wealthy.” However, “rich” and “wealthy” mean different things to different people.

According to respondents of a 2019 Modern Wealth Survey from Charles Schwab, once you have $2.3 million in personal net worth, you can call yourself wealthy.

You might have money, but you aren’t rich if you don’t have anyone to spend it with. Being rich is also having someone to share your joy and sorrows, and it’s having someone to have spend time with. Do you believe this?

The answer probably depends on who you ask. For some people, wealth might mean the ability to buy whatever they want. For others, it might mean living without debt.

What it really means to be wealthy is entirely up to you. To some people, wealth is always going to mean money, but we can’t all be wealthy in that way. There are so many other ways to be wealthy because there are so many definitions of wealth. What does being Rich mean to you and is it limited to money?
